Employment Practices and Discrimination Liability Insurance

IIABAZ members can purchase Employment Practices and Discrimination Liability Insurance (EPLI) for their own agency's exposures with limits up to $5,000,000 available.


Through our EPLI policies you are provided a defense, and you are insured for damages caused by covered wrongful employment practices which may include:

  • sexual harassment
  • wrongful termination
  • wrongful discipline
  • defamation
  • invasion of privacy
  • misrepresentation
  • third party coverage
  • equal pay violations
  • wrongful infliction of emotional distress or retaliation
  • breach of employment contract
  • negligent evaluation
  • wrongful deprivation of career opportunity
  • failure to employ/promote
  • wage + hour

You may also purchase coverage for employment related acts of discrimination. This coverage may extend to acts that pertain to an employee's:

  • disability
  • race
  • handicap
  • religion
  • creed
  • age
  • gender
  • sexual orientation
  • sexual preference
  • pregnancy
  • national origin

You are right to feel confident about your ability to handle personnel issues -- but you can't be everywhere all the time. It's critical that you have a ready means of defense whether the action initiated against you or one of your management team is a groundless retaliatory act, or one which the courts might deem justifiable.
