Giving back to the community where we work and live has been the cornerstone of CoBiz Financial since the very beginning. CoBiz's distinct brand and unique approach to corporate social responsibility go hand in hand with how we do business and support our community. Most recently, CoBiz's signature event, Biz Bash, hosted its 11th annual concert fundraiser in Arizona, featuring one of the most recognizable voices in American music history, Dennis DeYoung: The Music of Styx. Event proceeds will benefit two of Phoenix's top nonprofits, A New Leaf and New Pathways for Youth. Biz Bash puts the FUN into fundraising and its impact in the community is profound. It's been said that being selected as a Biz Bash beneficiary feels like winning the nonprofit lottery! With more than $5.3 million distributed since its 2001 inception in Colorado, Biz Bash dollars at work in the community are supporting crucial programs and services benefiting thousands of children and families in underserved communities in Arizona and Colorado, contributing $150,000 in 2012 to The Ryan House. The beneficiary in 2011-12 was the Arizona Ryan House. The mission of the Ryan House is to provide respite and palliative care to children with life-threatening conditions and, as needed, en-of-life care. Ryan House is a home that provides a welcoming, comfortable environment where some of Arizonas most special children can truly be themselves. Parents get a much-needed short break from the continuous care their child requires at home.
